Today was a strange one. I recently was talking to a friend who said once he went to his Tuesday/Thursday class on a Monday by mistake. When he went to class on Tuesday, he realized what had happened. I couldn’t say that anything similar had happened to me, but I should have known better.

On Wednesdays, I normally have class 10:30-11:30, work 11:30-2:30, then another class 2:30-4:30. Today I didn’t have much to do at work, so I sent a few emails and left at 12:00 pm. I just submitted a paper for one of my classes, and in the other we have a quiz on Wednesday. I didn’t bring my laptop so I took my time eating lunch and then stopped to see two friends in the library.

That’s when things got weird.

For some reason, my brain thought I had class at 1:30 on Mondays, not 2:30. This was the first mistake. So at 1:15 I headed over to my class and ran into my friend. I never see this friend before my 2:30 class, in fact, I did not recognize anyone in the hallway. I thought nothing of it, chatted with my friend, and then went into the classroom.

Once inside, this girl said, “The class is cancelled. Didn’t you get the email?” I told her I didn’t see an email, which I thought was weird. Our prof is very….anti-email. I was kind of stunned because I had just killed time for a class that was cancelled. Then the girl said something about a paper, and I replied explaining what I understood about the paper. The two girls in the room didn’t really respond to me, but again, I thought nothing of it.

Oh well…I decided to go home, get my laptop and maybe come back to get some work done.

I had not walked very far when I realized I had left my gym bag behind in the classroom so I turned around to get it. After getting my bag, I was convinced that my watch was wrong. How could it only be 1:30…shouldn’t it be 2:30 if my class was cancelled?

Now I was really confused so I sent my friend from class three texts, asking about the cancelled class. Then I realized that the girls I were talking to were not in my class. We discussed two completely different assignments without even knowing it!

Now that my little brain understood what time it was, I went to my 2:30 class like normal. What a crazy day!
